Saranga Thakura was an associate of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who lived under a bakula tree in Navadvipa. During the day he would gather materials for the worship of his Deities, and in the evenings he would cross the Ganges River to join Mahaprabhu’s kirtans. The great devotee Murari Thakura was his disciple.
Photograph shows the bakula tree at the site of Saranga Thakura’s home in Mamagachi, India.
