Having spoken thus, Vāsudeva showed Arjuna His personal four-handed form with crown, cakra, club, and other ornaments, and which was a mixture of sweetness and grandeur. Then again Kṛṣṇa appeared in His most beautiful (saumya-vapuḥ) two-handed form, and gave comfort to the fearful Arjuna. When Kṛṣṇa appeared as the son of Vasudeva and Devakī, He first of all appeared as four-armed Nārāyaṇa, but when He was requested by His parents, He transformed Himself into an ordinary child in appearance.

Similarly, Kṛṣṇa knew that Arjuna was not interested in seeing a four-handed form, but since Arjuna asked to see this four-handed form, Kṛṣṇa also showed him this form again and then showed Himself in His two-handed form, wearing bracelets, earrings, turban, and yellow cloth. Arjuna said that his mind had become peaceful seeing the beautiful form of Kṛṣṇa, and had regained his composure. Among the Yadu family and among the Pāṇḍavas, Kṛṣṇa sometimes appeared with two arms and sometimes with four arms. In both these forms He is called human because of the human-like form and human-like activities.
